Jaggy's Treehouse of DOOM.

Where all the little pixies live.

I'm having so much fun at work at the moment. In between saving people's lives I get into trouble. Like decorating people's desks. It's pretty! One guy has two monitors, so I spelt out a message for him to find one morning, with one letter per post-it, that took up both screens. I spent ages doodling and colouring in each letter to look like an animal or something. Pretty. It's on his wall now, next to an AWESOME Napolean Dynamite style portrait I drew of him.

We were banned from flicking rubber bands a while ago now, so I collected up the contraband and made a giant rubber band ball. It's at least 3 inches in diameter now, and bounces really high! Except bouncing that has been banned too.

My 3D paper art ceiling cat disappeared from above my desk, no ransom note or anything! It's as if it fell down and a cleaner binned it. OR, stole it and put it up at home. The thought of that makes me smile. But he's probably dead, suffocated in the paper waste bin. Poor thing.

One time I drew a picture of a steak, and attatched a pencil so I could make it spin. Then handed our work force manager my iPod, which was playing "you spin me right round" and spun the steak for him. Nobody else got the reference. Which, in retrospect, is a good thing.

Listening to: Madeliene Peyroux
Soooo in right now: black long sleeved v-neck top, grey 3/4 sweat pants.

Hello, blog!

I just discovered a blog I liked and had to read it all the way through. Took a few hours, on and off. Hate it when that happens, but it was so good.

I've let my Facebook and Youtube addictions get in the way of blogging, and had a fabulous time doing so.

Jodie and Cydney are supposed to have broken up! I sincerely hope it's a plot to get Jodie to come out (heh) and deny it, officially acknowledging they are together. But it's been a few days now. Le sigh. At least Ellen and Portia are all set to rock California's gay marriage whatsit. Awesome.

Need sleep.

Bye.

Listening to: Jodie Foster kind of coming out. Over and over. Yay!
Soooo in right now: t-shirt and trackpants. Bare feet.

My eye is getting better! Except for how it looks. So I'm perfectly happy at home, but I have to wear sunglasses when I go out. Which sucks.

Meme time! snurched from Neep.

1) Where did you begin 2007?
In Liz' flat. With plans to go out but not brave enough to face the cold. Brrrr. I think we had bubbles and strawberries.

2) What was your status by Valentine's Day?

I don't remember.

3) Were you in school (anytime this year)?

Uni.

4) How did you earn your money?

Supervising at KFC until about May, student loan, and my new job at Quitline.

5) Did you have to go to the hospital?

Yes, I had eye surgery last week, just before my birthday. They woke me up for part of the operation, and gave me morphine.

6) Did you have any encounters with the police?

Yesterday I saw a policewoman stop some Unruly Youths to question them about their actvities, and this one kid was all like, "oh fuck, will you let me go if I do 100 push ups?" He did and she did. I stopped to watch with Katy and the babies. Fun.

7) Where did you go on a holiday?

I went up to Auckland at the beginning of the year, for a Madeliene Peyroux concert and Dunkin' Donuts. And then a few weeks ago I went down to Nelson for a week.

8) What did you purchase that was over $1000?

Only course fees I think.

I had an eyepatch and a throbbing headache. The weekend was awesome, but my actual birthday I went back to work for the first time since my surgery. I got sent home at lunchtime because I was in pain, slept all afternoon, the spent the evening watching Arrested Development and movies, wondering why Mum wasn't ringing to say happy birthday. Turns out the flat phone was going sraight to the answering thing for some reason.

19) What's one thing you thought you'd never do but did in 2007?

Join a middle-aged-motorbike gang for a weekend.

Jumping off Auckland Harbour bridge! Or maybe showing Mum the dvd after, without warning her what we'd done. She has a thing about bungy jumping.

They like me, they really like me!

Listening to: The hum of my laptop.
Soooo in right now: Beatles t-shirt and knickers.

So I've been in training for my new job for a week now, and I did a call simulation today where we had to talk out of our arses for the advice we're supposed to give that we haven't covered yet, but complete smoking and medical histories, dispense nicotine patches or gum, and complete two follow up calls. The test was on filling out the database correctly.

My trainer was shocked that I stayed serious for the whole call. I rocked it. We've been sitting around the same table for 8 hours a day for a week, and I tend to relieve the tedium by taking the piss a little. And challenging the trainers with wildly obscure scenarios that are still valid questions. And a whole lot of snarky comments. But I didn't think I had come across as unable to be serious.

I got 38.5/39 for my first written assessment. Yay!

I'm going to see OotP

Listening to: Foreigner, Cold as Ice.
Soooo in right now: Mugglecast t-shirt; favourite jeans, newly sewn back together; wet hair; new socks.

I've been sick for two looooong weeks, but tonight I'm leaving the house for he first time 3 days to go and see the new Potter movie. By no way am I as excited about it as the book next weekend, but it looks like it's going to be better than the other attempts. And Tonks! Yay!

Next week I'm going to be lining up outside Borders at some ridiculous hour of the morning, with a thermos of hot butterbeer. Containing butterscotch schnaps which I haven't bought yet. Yuuum. I might share.

I really should attempt to dry my hair before I go out in the cold. I'm all snuffly because I'm saving my next dose of hallucination inspiring cough syrup for right before the movie, so can have a shot at enjoying the experience.

Listening to: Suspended From Class, Camera Obscura.
Soooo hot right now: Black singlet top, black v-neck thing, zip up hoody, jeans. And mismatched socks.

I just bought a top with a tie printed on! Like Ellen's! But my tie is pink. I luff eet. I want this other one I saw today, it's red and has retro headphones printed on, like a hoody I saw on Geek Chic, but it's from Jay Jays so I'll have to wait to make sure all the teeny boppers aren't going to all get it.

Me and Emma are building up a collection of $2 shop nail polishes, we have 8 colours now, wtf. But that includes black, white and clear. Hmmmmm.

Flats, Harry Potter, Madeliene and JUMPING OFF BRIDGES!

Listening to: My Heart Will Go On (a fanvid, not the song for it's own sake!)
Soooo in right now: A stylish black "Kapiti College Stage Challenge 2002" t-shirt, bright pink undies. I was reading through old posts today and noticed I talk about knickers a lot, that's only because I usually post from bed.

Sooo, I moved into my new flat, spent one night there and now I'm back home working 10 days solid before uni starts. The flat is an 8 minute walk from uni (Emma timed it) and a short walk to the top stop of the cable car. Awesome.

The last Harry Potter release date has been announced- 21st July 2007. I'm *very* excited. It will probably be another simultaneous release, so kiwis wont get the fun of lining up for midnight... will be about 10am instead. So very excited. Last time I was hanging out in Paper Plus (Eileen works there) before a First Aid course, and they let me sit in the staffroom because they weren't open yet. It was the morning of the release, and the boxes of HBP were stacked up in there. I kept hugging them and stroking them. I even sent people pictures of myself with them, only later finding out the publishers had somehow made it illegal to distribute photos or videos of the books or boxes before the release. Heh.

Look! Madeliene Peyroux, the reason me and Eileen went to Auckland the weekend before last. Her concert was aweome. Auckland was cool too. I mean, we were walking down a city street at night, in shorts and singlet tops, and we weren't freezing our arses off. It doesn't get cold after dark there. And no wind! Even on the waterfront. I can't believe I'm so used to Wellington that that seems bizarre.

Of course, while I was there I had to leap off the harbour bridge. Look!

Figured out what the deathly hallows are.

Four hallows of Arthurian legend- Sword or dagger, chalice of cup, baton or wand and coin, disc or pentacle.

Based on four treasures of Ireland, pops up in all sorts of legends, still seen today as the cup, wand, sword and pentacle of tarot.

The regalia of a king represents these objects. Sword, septre, crown, orb. Voldemort was making himself king by choosing these artifacts to become hurcruxes.

So they are the remaining hurcruxes. Harry knows he's looking for an artifact of each founder. Hufflepuff's cup, Slytherin's locket, Ravenclaw's wand, "something of Griffindor's". That something is the sword sitting in Dumbledore's office.

SO, the "Deathly Hallows" are the 4 remaining Horcruxes. Hallows beause they are these four items, Deathly because they are hurcruxes. Hallows could also refer to the founders themselves.

Final Harry Potter title revealed!!!

Harry Potter and the... Deathly Hallows!

Hallows- set apart or holy. All Hallows day, hallowed means saints. Halloween, it just means dead people.

SO, I have three theories.

1. Harry dies (I know I said he wouldn't, but I've had 5 hours of work to think about this) and joins a long list of matyrs in the war against Voldemort. He would be hallowed right? And plural hallows because others have died before him.

2. Hallows are the opposite of inferi. Inferi are spiritless bodies used to do Voldemorts bidding. Deathly Hallows are bodiless spirits returned to earth, an army led by Dumbledore! Not quite ghosts, but able to influence things in some way.

3. Harry has to learn about people who have fought Voldemort before him, and died. He must combine their knowledge, with his own, and use it to defeat Voldemort. His parents, Regulas Black (RAB, who knew about the horcruxes), Dumbledore etc. This works with the Catholic church's idea of hallowed people, people whose example you follow, and look to for help.

I like the 3rd theory best.
